Some of the world’s most significant moments have included mud, from the creation of Adam to that famous mind altering festival at Woodstock, and although we find ourselves in an age of rapidly advancing technologies, this humble stuff continues to inspire thousands of makers who still call themselves ‘potters’.
On Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 August, hundreds of Australian ceramic artists will open their studios to share their passion and knowledge with you at the 2016 Australian Ceramics Open Studios (ACOS). Every year, studio potters from northern NSW celebrate the event on The North Coast Mud Trail.
You’re invited to step inside 19 studios across the Byron, Tweed, Ballina and Lismore Shires, from Bagotville in the south to Nunderi in the north.
Treat yourself and get dirty in a workshop, see fiery demonstrations, listen to inspiring artist’s talks, or just indulge your curiosity and see how a muddy potter lives! 😉
